I’m sure we all have one, but how important is it, to start your day in the same way? Does it become monotonous, boring, or, are you more like me and enjoy having the same way to start your day? Do you feel more grounded?
Ever since lockdown began, the only change I have made to my morning, other than jumping on a bus, is switching my alarm off. You see, I’m a morning person. I love mornings. I’m also somewhat lucky in that my son doesn’t get up before me (most days) and so I get to eat breakfast in peace, and even catch a couple of Youtube videos (post coming soon about this) that are in my watch later list which always helps me feel a bit more settled in the morning.
I’ve even debated lately the idea of starting work early now that I don’t commute, to allow me to finish earlier in the afternoon, which would give me more time with my son in the afternoon. Especially considering he’s supposed to be returning to school in September, and as far as I’m aware, I’m not returning to the office. I will say I’m kind of looking forward to working from home with him in school. My wife will be working upstairs, and I’ll have the downstairs to myself, able to listen to podcasts (there’s a new subject to write about) whenever I want, and maybe even doing school runs.
Are you a morning person, or more of a night owl? Let me know in the comments below.
It’s incredibly calming and centering to get up before your kids, even if you have to set an alarm on weekends.

I am MORE of a morning person, though I find getting up before say 7-8 a massive struggle. Though when I do get up before then, it strangely feels rewarding. Also it is definitely nice to have some kind of routine.

Getting up before you thought would be possible is a great feeling! As long as it’s not in the middle of the night
